Course code: Ask-Junior
This certificate is designed for anyone wanting to enter the world of espresso coffee preparation, with the aim of becoming a trained barista. You will learn how to prepeare and present all espresso coffees and other hot and cold non alcoholic beverages served in today's cafes. This course will also give you an understanding of coffee heritage, history and processing through research projects. We will practice some basic latte art patterns as well as speed and efficiency. The certificate for Junior level will only be rewarded after successful completion of the course, otherwise a certificate of training will be given.
Course hours: 5 x 4.5 hours (Monday-Friday) Course times: 9:30am-2:00pm
Course cost: NZ$ 480.00

"A day in the Cafe"- This course is an introduction to the commercial side of all things coffee. You will get to know the Equipment, learn what it takes to make that perfect shot, texture milk and combine the 2 to create the favorites on today's cafe menu. We will engage in a coffee tasting as well as a short Latte art session. This course runs over 3 days, 4 hours a day. Maximum 4 Person per class. A certificate of training will be given. This course will give a great insight into the world of for any coffee lover.
Course hours: 12 (3x4) Wednesday-Friday
Course times: 1.30pm-5.30pm maximum number 4

This course builds onto the Junior certificate. The Junior certificate is the pre requisite to participate in the work shops to achieve the intermediate level. This course builds onto the Intermediate certificate. An intermediate level of espresso making skills are pre requisite to participate in the work shops to achieve the Award. The course cost covers all work shops required. For more info please Click here. To achieve the Award, participation in both workshops is required and a practical as well as theory exam must be successfully completed.
